The Ed Finn Guitar Program:

1. Save money.
(a.) Complete basic level courses at a fraction of the cost of attending a college, university or post secondary adult educational institution.
(b.) Avoid costly remedial courses.
(c.) Possibly enter the school of your choice at a higher level and earn your diploma or certificate in less time.
(d.) Free parking.
2. Save time.
(a.) You will gain the ability to attain higher scores on placement tests.
(b.) You may possibly qualify for advanced placement at the school of your choice thereby completing their program in less time.
(c.) In this program, you won't wait hours between classes. This program requires a commitment of an hour and a half per day, three days per week, with no wasted time.
3. Fit into your personal schedule.
Classes are offered on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Choose from one of the following available schedules:
(a.) 9:00AM to 10:30AM
(b.) 11:00AM to 12:30PM
(c.) 1:30PM to 3:00PM
(d.) 3:30PM to 5:00PM
4. Private instructors.
A referral service to private instructors is offered at an additional fee for those students who feel they would like the optional extra of one on one coaching or instruction focused on a particular style of music. The additional fee charged varies depending on each private instructor's individual rate. There is a vast pool of qualified music instructors of guitar and/or any other instrument (including voice) on my list of professional contacts in Los Angeles . In some cases, a request for a particular instructor can be accommodated.
5. How and what to practice.
You will learn an innovative practicing technique. A method that will maximize your ability to absorb and retain new information. The routines of the method are applied to course subject matter and drilled in every class meeting.

I've been playing the guitar since 1965 with a wide and varied career as a professional musician and music educator. See the bio.
7. Veteran instructor.
I began teaching at Musicians Institute in the guitar department (GIT) in September of 1985 where I am still a faculty member today. I have taught classes in all of the required core subjects for the guitar department. I have taught interdepartmentally as well educating singers, keyboard players, bass players and drummers in addition to guitar players who wished to study tonal music. I was voted teacher of the year by the GIT class of fall 2004.
