Born in Rock Island, Illinois, Ed Finn began studying the guitar at the age of 15, and a year later he was playing professionally. His performance career of over forty years has taken him all over the United States to the finest concert venues in the world including Carnegie Hall.

Ed is a veteran of many years touring as a sideman and as a music director with live shows featuring a variety of popular recording artists. He toured as a principal guitarist for singer/actress Nell Carter, star of the hit Broadway musical “Ain’t Misbehavin’” and the television sitcom “Gimme A Break”.

Since 1996 Ed has been touring with pianist Roger Williams and his quintet, and he appeared on the PBS special “Pop Goes the Ivories” with Mr. Williams.

His recording credits include the title theme from HBO’s “Dream On”, Disney-Buena Vista Cable TV’s “Elvis: The Great Performances” soundtrack and the “Pop Goes the Ivories” CD.

He is known for his wide variety of commercial guitar styles from Blues, R&B to Pop, Rock, Country and Jazz.

Ed has been a faculty member at Guitar Institute of Technology (Musician’s Institute) in Hollywood since 1985. In 2004, GIT named him instructor of the year. He studied at Blackhawk college in Moline, Illinois, Jefferson State College in Birmingham, Alabama, Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida as well as GIT.
